vox classifications

the challenge

Design a set of typography cards featuring a typeface from the Vox Type Classifications. Show an upper-case example, a lower-case example, and include the typeface, classification, foundry, designer, and a pangram.

the approach

After researching the Vox Type Classifications, I selected a typeface from each category that best embodied its classification and complemented typefaces from the other groups. My goal was to design a series of cards that uniformly showcased each typeface while preserving visual interest through the unique characteristics of each font. I kept the color palette minimal by using black, white, and a golden yellow spot color. The intent behind this decision was to let the typefaces speak for themselves and spotlight their natural beauty.
